Audio

Songs constitute a major part of James Hogg’s achievement.

This page links to original recordings, which may be downloaded or streamed. It will serve as a platform for additional recordings, including an audio lecture by Kirsteen McCue (Glasgow), who edited his songs in two volumes for the new edition of his work. (This lecture is currently available on the original website.)

Listen to some of Hogg’s songs from the audio CD I’ll sing ye a wee bit sang: Selected Songs of James Hogg, produced by the James Hogg Research Project.

Further recordings featuring Kirsteen McCue were made as part of the 2017 AHRC-funded exhibition “James Hogg in the World”.
